Beginnings Are Many, and Ends Are One

2020

Seemingly, the pictures do not match each other, but the opposite is true. The project is a collection of one-frame stories, uncomplicated constructions in which staged authentic frames mix with undisguised photomontage, and reality intertwines with fiction. What is photography, and where does it end? What is photography nowadays? Does the unrestrained and noticeable use of simple tools in a photo editing program (copy-paste) cause the approach to photography in the classical sense to be lost in favour of the neo-photographic approach? Are the frames that border on a collage or design graphics still photographs, or are they not?

Digital photography, analog photography (35mm, medium format)

Each picture exists on its own, and it is a single story drawn out as if from a dream. The content of dreams is devoid of any rules that must be followed. They create exciting scenarios, sometimes too confusing or unreal, where it’s hard to come up with them while awake. Taking pictures full of colours was my escape from the severe depression that accompanied me for several years. I transferred what was happening in my mind to the previously planned frames.
